Undergraduate Programs
The College of Education offers a wide range of academic programs that address today's most important education issues, both within national and international contexts.
These programs are available at the pre-service (undergraduate) and graduate level, and include Bachelor of Arts (BA), Bachelor of Science (BS), Master of Education (EdM), Master of Arts (MA), Master of Science (MS), Certificate of Advanced Study (CAS), Doctor of Education (EdD), and Doctor of Philosophy (PhD).
Each of these programs is administered by one of the College of Education's six academic departments:
- Curriculum & Instruction
- Educational Organization & Leadership
- Educational Policy Studies
- Educational Psychology
- Human Resource Education
- Special Education
Individual programs correspond to the curricular focus and faculty expertise of each department. The Department of Educational Organization and Leadership, for instance, offers programs in Educational Administration.
Graduate-level programs are available from all departments. Pre-service programs are offered by the Departments of Special Education and Curriculum and Instruction only. However, where needed, other departments also contribute courses to pre-service programs.
Most degrees can be earned through the traditional on-campus format, but online and mixed online/on-campus formats are also available, particularly in professional development programs at the EdM level.
International students are welcome to join any of the programs offered by the College. However, a greater proportion of international students are currently enrolled in graduate programs.
