Gail Taylor presents at symposia
Gail Taylor (Ph.D. student) served as an invited presenter at three symposia held recently. The first symposium was held at the University of North Carolina - Chapel Hill on April 8, 2006. The symposium, "Attack of the Blog: Legal Horrors in the Workplace," was organized by the editors of the North Carolina Journal of Law and Technology. Presenters addressed the manner in which blogging technology is transforming business organization practices.
She was also one of the invited presenters at the 7th Annual Conference in Human Resources, hosted by the Central Illinois Chapter of the Society of Human Resource Management in Springfield, IL, held in April. She presented an interactive session, "Technology for the Future: How to Manage Change vs. Being Managed by Change" where participants explored the manner in which Internet-based and mobile technologies are being used in workplace settings and offered advice on how to develop appropriate use policies to manage employee technology usage.
The last session will be at the University of Illinois Faculty Summer Institute 2006, to be held in May. Her session explores how mobile information and communication devices can be used to support teaching and learning in educational and workplace settings.
