My main research interests are in education and philosophy, social theory and policy studies with a focus on the significance of both contemporary philosophers (Nietzsche, Wittgenstein, Heidegger) and the movements of poststructralism, critical theory and analytic philosophy to the framing of educational theory and practice. I am also interested in philosophical and political economy approaches to questions of knowledge production, consumption and constructions of the 'knowledge economy', with an emphasis on social media, p2p, and openness in education and science. My major current projects include work on distributed knowledge systems, creative and open knowledge, learning and publishing systems, and 'open education'.
